PMN-PT single crystal test sample for PFM
This product is intended as a test sample for Piezoresponse Force Microscopy (PFM). It is a single crystal of PMN-PT (lead magnesium niobate–lead titanate) with a defined 001 surface orientation. The sample is useful for selection of the optimal imaging parameters (phase and amplitude) in PFM mode and for making test measurements.

Quick Start Guide
In order to make measurements, the sample is fixed on the SPM holder and the bottom electrode of the sample has to be grounded. The measurements are carried out in contact mode. An AC voltage is applied to the SPM tip with a frequency fmod. The surface of the sample begins to oscillate with the same frequency fmod. This response is analyzed using the lock-in amplifier. Domain wall contrast is observed in the signal of piezoresponse amplitude and the domain contrast can be seen in the phase signal.
